The Little Things

I was planning on entering another contest at I heart faces, but let's face it, this week has been a little busy. However, I did take this picture and worked on editing it last night after the contest deadline. I still wanted to post because I love how it came out.
The contest theme was nostalgia. I think this picture represents a longing to be a kid again and have someone read to you. Also, it makes me long for the time that I can be the Grannie....reading to her grandchild.

A Kindergarten Prayer

My very sweet friend, Darla, sent me this prayer a couple of weeks ago. Our boys are entering Kindergarten this year and we are both filled with many of the same anxieties and excitement. Her prayer for our boys was very heartfelt and relevant to anyone of us sending our children into the world, regardless of the grade they are entering. Please join me in lifting up Gavin and Nate as they embark on their new journey of Kindergarten. Also, if you want me to pray for your little one (or older one) starting school tomorrow, please leave me a comment and I will prayer for them.
Thank you Darla for your sweet words.

God, please slow our paces and help us to enjoy the moments of this new adventure - school. Watch over Gavin and Nate while they are away from us 5 days a week.
Guide their paths right now into the classroom - designed by You - with the teachers and classmates that are a perfect fit.
Be with us, their mommies, give us Godly wisdom that surpasses worldly information, suggestions, research, well meaning advice and even our best intentions......... You be in charge of their lives and raise them up, Lord.
Protect their every step.
Help us not to get in the way, but to be your hands and feet and to love them like only You can.
Pick us up when we make mistakes and help us to learn from them.
Encourage and refresh us daily.
Praise be to You, alone, for these precious boys!

Dress Up

I am not sure if any of you know how HOT it is here in Texas, but it is so hot, if you are not swimming, you stay inside. Staying inside creates a challenge when you have 3 very active boys ALWAYS needing something to do.
On this particular, very hot Texas day, the boys chose to play dress up. There is nothing wrong with a little dress up, right? They do have some boy clothes's shirts. All the boys participated in the dress up, but for some reason Gage did not make the photo shoot.

He's A Climber

My sister called me the other day and while I was on the phone with her I gave Grayson a cough drop...because he ask for one....and you will pretty much give them (the kids) anything they want (while you are on the phone) to keep them quiet. Did I just say that?
Anyway, after I finished my call with my sister, I came around the corner and this is what I see.

He moved the stool from the bathroom into the kitchen for some help. Although, I am not sure how much help it was...I guess enough to get on the counter. :)

Grayson was helping himself to another cough drop.

Oh, Grayson, my sweet little are always getting into things, but I still love you! And you make me laugh all the time. :)

Time-Out Antic's

Punishment must not be too bad in our house, because here is Gavin, after being sent to time out.
I was in the other room bathing the little boys and I come around the corner and see this....

G, you are a character...and by the way , I think you will be a pretty good athlete.

Now, get back to time out! :)

If you look closely, you can see the corner.....that is where he is suppose to be.

Go Away Stye!

Billy and I went away for a few days without the kids (more to come on that) and this is what we come home to. Gage had a severe case of a stye in his eye. He has actually had 3 over the last 3 months, but this one was the worst one, by far. We took him to the doctor on Monday morning and he was prescribed some antibiotics. He is much better now, but still wanted to post. He is really a trooper. :)

Asleep at the stairs

The other night, Billy and I went to check on the kids before going to bed and this is what we find.
Snuck out of his room again and then fell asleep where he was.

We laughed, and then got a little worried about what would have happened if we did not see him and he rolled down the stairs!? Well, I am glad that did not happen.
I guess I will continue checking on them before I go to bed for awhile---maybe until they move out? :)

My Day at FOTW - Potty Style

I am so behind on blogging so my best solution is to start with what is happening right now, and go back as time allows.
Today, we spent the morning at our church, Woodlands Church. They had a preschool fun day at the fountains. I decided to take the boys by myself and brave the crowds. If you know my boys, this is a huge task especially since they are all now using the potty. Someone always has to go to the bathroom and when you are by yourself, it creates somewhat of a challenge. Thankfully, my dear friend, Darla and her son Nate, joined us. It was nice to have an extra set of eyes and another person to stand watch as I take the boys to the potty. All in all it was a fun day, but don't stop reading and just look at the pictures because I have another funny story to share.

Lots of people and little children under the age of 5.

The boys watching kids church and the water, of course.

Sweet boys!

Little feet.

Nate & Gage were dancing to the music and singing about reading their B-I-B-L-E

While the boys were dancing and singing, Gavin decided he had to go to the bathroom. This would not normally be an issue, especially since I had Darla to assist in this situation. BUT, Gavin did not tell me he had to go to the bathroom, he just took it upon himself to find the nearest bush, YES BUSH (see photo) and pee on it. Well folks, we all know that Gavin never ceases to amaze us with his bathroom behavior.
If you are a frequent reader of my blog, I have a couple of other stories where he has relieved himself in inappropriate places. On the playground & Off the banister
I am laughing and crying as I write this. Honestly, I was not too surprised that he did this, not that he does this often, but because he is always doing random things. I tried not to be too embarrassed. I asked him what he was thinking and his response was, "No one was looking." WRONG answer!
Gavin spent the next five minutes in time out, while I looked around to see who might have seen anything. I did not see anyone laughing, but if you are reading this and you DID see Gavin relieve himself in the church plaza, please accept my apologies.
Gavin, while I love that you always keep me laughing, can you please stop relieving yourself in inappropriate places?

And I was so worried about the little boys having an accident!
