The Day He Turned 5

Five has been a BIG birthday in our house. I feel like five is a graduation of the toddler/preschool years and a beginning of a new life as a "kid". Gavin will start school when he is 5. He now has a responsibility chart that he is very excited about. AND he is getting allowance (we like to call it commission) for doing all his responsibilities.

The night before his birthday we spent the evening blowing up balloons so that we could fill his room with them.

Thanks goodness for the pump, although Billy did blow up several without it.

Here is what 72 balloons look like.

Gavin was very happy and surprised.

I'm 5!

Catching on to the theme yet?

Our breakfast birthday party.
But not without a fit! Just keeping it real! :)

Then the little boys had to have a birthday candle on their donuts. And we sang happy birthday, again.

Silly face!
Gavin had a great day on his "real" birthday, but the fun did not stop there. We celebrated the following day at school with cookies and then on Saturday with his party at Pump It up. Blog post will soon follow.

What a cute idea on the balloons! I'm going to have to mentally file that.

Sounds like it was a GREAT DAY! 5 is so much fun. That is my life - 4 and 5 year olds. I know how much the strive to be independant and do a darn good job of it! Many more to come!

I love the balloon idea too! And I can't believe you had a live pony in your backyard. How crazy and fun is that?
