I ♥ Faces - Week 12 Kids Theme - "Pouting"

I ♥ Faces is a photo blog website that has fun contests with photos. This week they are having a photo contest on "pouting" and I knew the perfect picture to enter of Gage...so I am entering my first contest.
Be sure to head on over to http://www.iheartfaces.blogspot.com/ to check out all of the beautiful (pouty) face entries this week!"

The Birthday Surprise

Gavin had a HUGE birthday surprise and I mean that in a literal sense. Papa & Mia showed up at our door with a real live pony. His name was Izzy and he spent the night in our backyard. Gavin, Gage & Grayson were more than elated to have their very own pet pony. Everyone took turns riding him and have missed him since he has left.

My little cowboy, thanks to Mia & Papa!

If I am being honest, which I tend to be, I was a little worried about having a farm animal in my backyard. Especially since the surprise was also for me. However, after the shock wore off, I embraced having this little pony in my backyard. The boys loved every minute of it and I know that Gavin will remember this for his entire life. Thank you Papa & Mia for pony surprise. I know it took some planning on your part and it meant the world to Gavin.

The Party - Pump It Up

After attending our first Pump It Up Party almost a year ago, all Gavin has talked about was having his party there....so Happy Birthday to Gavin! He had his party at Pump It Up. Here are some cute pictures of the day.

The Day He Turned 5

Five has been a BIG birthday in our house. I feel like five is a graduation of the toddler/preschool years and a beginning of a new life as a "kid". Gavin will start school when he is 5. He now has a responsibility chart that he is very excited about. AND he is getting allowance (we like to call it commission) for doing all his responsibilities.

The night before his birthday we spent the evening blowing up balloons so that we could fill his room with them.

Thanks goodness for the pump, although Billy did blow up several without it.

Here is what 72 balloons look like.

Gavin was very happy and surprised.

I'm 5!

Catching on to the theme yet?

Our breakfast birthday party.
But not without a fit! Just keeping it real! :)

Then the little boys had to have a birthday candle on their donuts. And we sang happy birthday, again.

Silly face!
Gavin had a great day on his "real" birthday, but the fun did not stop there. We celebrated the following day at school with cookies and then on Saturday with his party at Pump It up. Blog post will soon follow.

Houston Rodeo 2009

We visited the Houston Rodeo for the first time and will definitely be making it an annual trip. Honestly, we were a little skeptical of how the boys would do, but they pleasantly surprised us. They were completely entertained and they obeyed so well. We were very proud of them. We were at the rodeo for over 4 hours and did not take a stroller or wagon. (so they walked the entire time) If you can tell by the pictures, I left my favorite camera at home. Next on the list to purchase, is a backpack for the camera so I can easily carry it anywhere.

This is the very first amusement ride for all 3 of the boys. It spun in circles, so I watched from afar. My stomach can not take spinning.

Gavin wanted a cowboy hat the moment we arrived at the Rodeo. Then he wanted boots, a rope and a ride on horse....we will have to work on getting him the rest.

We did not make any of the shows, but it did not seem to matter to the boys. They loved looking into the arena.

Those are some BIG longhorns!
