Food for Thought

I just started another bible study and I am reading the book "The Relationship Principles of Jesus by Tom Holladay. This particular quote stood out to me and I wanted to share with my blog friends. Relationships have always held a significant value for me, but this just confirms their importance.

"Place the highest value on relationships! Not on money, but on
relationships---first with God and then with others. Not on time, but on
relationships---first with God and then with others. Not on things, but on
relationships---first with God and then with others. Not on your work, but
on relationships---first with God and then with others."

Here is where scripture backs this up:

"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29-31
